Diana Hendricks | Women In Color

 

Wahoo! Jill Pankey and I are collaborating on a fabulous ongoing project - “Women in Color." What makes us click as friends?  What are our passions. What are our weaknesses? Among the featured stories and images will be women who have come to be sisters through politics, art,  literature, sports, music, crafts, childhood, motherhood and more.  Partly truth and partly fiction! Does your group of friends have a story to tell? Do you have a great collection of shoes or lipsticks, or hats or jewelry? Will you VOLUNTEER to be a part of our project? We are  seeking individuals and groups of fun-loving women to photograph and paint.   The photo shoots are great fun and take an hour or so.  Tell us your story!

Hendricks’ metallic giclee and Pankey’s oil  on canvas - triptych, diptych,  and single works will combine to tell the story of friendship over and over again.

2013: Women in Color

Earlier this year, I  shot about 100 images of a colorful group of Jill's friends at the Pankeys' Square One Gallery in Bryan, Texas, to get the project going. Here are a few of the edits. Jill is painting composites of the women (and a few brave men who happen to stumble into the shoot!) As mentioned in the sidebar, we are looking for groups of friends  who will volunteer for this project, tracking those special interests that bring us together. Or individuals with crazy addictions to shoes or hats or other collectables that you cannot bear to pass up! What's your story?
